Dear God,

I held the sweet peaches in my hand, took a quick sniff of the golden Canadian Harmony variety and smiled as I peeled, pitted and canned the tasty fruit for when the snow flies.  For me it was a spiritual exercise in joy and gratitude.

How can a peach seed provide so much goodness?  How can a peach tree grow and produce so much fruit?  How can peaches be "put up" in glass Mason jars and retain their wondrous taste, shape and texture for so long?  It is your plan, O God, your plan.

As I continue to pick fruit and vegetables and process them by home canning, I find myself filling up with joy and thanksgiving thinking of your magnificent plan of creation.  As I give them away as gifts or open them up on a cold, snowy day and eat them, I will think of you, Master of Creation.

Thank you,
Loving God,
for this
amazing season
of Autumn harvest.
Thank you
for peaches,
their flavor,
their color,
their shape,
their texture
and their gift.
You are God;
there is none
like you.

Love, Andrea
