Dear God,

Thanksgiving, I love the word, thanks and giving.  It is your call to us, your invitation to be a people of gratitude, to look around, to identify blessings, to give thanks and to give to others.  I love this time, O Lord, because it draws me ever closer to you.

Yesterday I connected with so many people through texts and calls.  I felt your wondrous presence.  I felt love overflowing both coming in to me and going out of me but it was all your love, you the author and creator of love.  How can we not give thanks?

Thank you,

for the gift

and the gifts

of Thanksgiving.

Thank you

for your

living presence,

your love

springing forth,

your compassion

bubbling up

and your whisper

to count blessings.

I don't ever

want to forget

all you are

and all

you do

for us.
