Dear God,
You prove your love over and over again. Your love is for all, no matter age, gender, sexual orientation, color or political persuasion. If you love me, then you must love everyone. You have no favorites or maybe we are all your favorites.
Today I saw Steven walking up my driveway carrying palm branches and candles. I was so happy to see him since I had not been with him in worship for over a year. Steven is married to Tim. They are two loving men, so fully engaged in caring about others. They wear their faith inside and out.
I felt so delighted to receive the Holy Week gifts from our church, Good Samaritan Episcopal Church. Years ago as a gay man, Steven would not have been accepted as part of a church. Neither would he have been given the honor of taking sacred, holy items to parishioners for virtual worship this holy season but today there he was, a full member of your church, loved and beloved. I felt such joy that your love is so wide and deep.
Loving God,
thank you
for making
love possible
for all
your children.
Thank you
for the gifts
of your spirit.
Thank you
for Good Samaritan Episcopal Church,
for all
her beloved members
and her acceptance
of all
your children.
Thank you
for Steven
and for
his gifts today.
We are blessed.
Love always, Andrea
