Dear God,

As this new day dawns, it is a day of new beginnings.  Today I can choose faith over fear, love over hate and wisdom over foolishness.  Or not.

A conversation the other day with a couple I am to marry in May, centered on choice.  You can choose to prioritize, to determine what is most important for you and live in that commitment, I told them.  You can have a bright future and marriage by focusing on your relationship over anything else.  If not, you can just get what you get.  Choice, it makes all the difference.

Today, O God, I want to choose you over everything else.  If I face difficulty, I want to choose your will for my words and behavior.  If I face joy, I want to choose to give you praise and to express my thanksgiving.  If I face temptation, I want to choose trust in you to do the right thing.

for the blessing

of this

new day.

Thank you

for awakening me

this morning.

Thank you

for giving me

the power

of choice.

Help me

always choose you.
