Dearest God,
A week or so ago you whispered into my ear "last things." I took that to mean last things to complete some work on our spiritual path.
For 13 years I have been working on the spiritual path you asked me to create in our woods. Together, you and I and a three other friends have opened up spaces by clearing all kinds of debris thrown "over the hill" a hundred years ago. Broken glass, barbed wire, rusted toys, dishes, cutlery and pots are just a few of the items tossed. In addition we have dug, clipped, sawed, pruned, pulled, pushed and cleaned a half acre of gnarly, tangled invasive species that choked out many native plants. Finally, you nudged me to complete certain areas and what fun and joy it has been.
As I edged and mulched, I saw the glory of your hand. I viewed what you have seen all along. I had no idea what a finished project would look like. I knew it would be beautiful because you only do beautiful work. I was blessed to give thanks to you for your vision, dream, hope, mission and love. As I continue to put last things on other areas, I know I will be breathing out my love right back to you. For all who kayak or canoe along the river will witness the beauty of your creation. It is still not done; so much is left to do but after 13 years together we are fulfilling your desire for the land.
Gracious and Loving God,
thank you
for last things,
for quiet whisperings
and gentle nudgings.
Thank you
for the
amazing beauty
unfolding here
on Pleasant Street.
Thank you
for mystical moments
that are revealed
as we
work together.
Love, Andrea
