Dear God,

Thank you for the gift of anticipation.  For weeks my covenant group has been talking about our upcoming retreat.  We have discussed our theme, sessions and who is assigned to lead.  Yesterday we talked about what beverages we will have when we get together.  LOL, really what kind of coffee???

It has been 18 months since we were last together and we can't wait to reunite.  We plan to look at the period of the pandemic with political chaos and conflict, hundreds of thousands becoming ill with Covid and an economic shutdown.  We want to discuss how we were influenced by darkness and how and where we saw your light.  We want to exam how we were changed, what we learned about ourselves and our world and the next steps you want us to take as we step into the future with you and all those around us near and far.

To anticipate such a warm, rewarding time is to share our gratitude, blessings and insights.  Like children waiting for Christmas and birthdays, we too are excited and long to spend three days dwelling in your loving presence.

Holy, holy, holy

and the light.

You are God;

no other.
