Dear God,

Today as I worked alone on the spiritual path, the word "lines" came to me.  I was edging, plucking weeds and planting.  As I sat back and listened to you, you whispered wisdom to me.  Lines can be rigid, hard and unyielding.  They can box in, prevent movement and hold captive.  But lines can also be soft and giving.  They can invite steps forward, sideways and backward.  They can be like doors and windows always open to whatever comes.  They can offer adventure, exploration and wonderment.  They can be stepped over, stepped on and even danced around.  As I listened, I smiled knowing how faith always brings an added dimension of human living.

I looked at the lines of my edging and prayed the soil, plants, trees, river and breezes will always bring invitation to all who come, an invitation to peace, joy, hope, challenge and love.

Thank you
for the lessons
of faith,
Holy God.
Thank you
for teaching me.
Thank you
for challenges
that always
take me
beyond where
I am
to where
you want me
to go.

Love, Andrea
