Dear God,

A huge storm came through the campground in the middle of last night.  I was so glad your still, small voice encouraged me to to leave my tent and take shelter in my friend's camper trailer.  At 10:30 p.m. I carried my blankets, pillows, backpack and devotional books and knocked on my friend's trailer door.  She let this poor waif in and by 3:00 a.m. when the storm literally ripped through the campground with the loudest thunder and driving rain and the closest huge lightning strikes, I felt the comfort of the port in the storm.

So many hymns and songs have been written about comfort in the many storms of life.  They can be weather storms, psychological storms, physical storms, financial storms or many other kind of storms.  Songs that depict your tender, loving care during those difficult times bring us hope and peace.  They have the power to help us overcome our dilemmas maybe only temporarily or sometimes completely.  Whether one or the other, we find what we need waiting when we need it.  And that, O Lord, has your name written all over it.

Blessed are you,
Great God of Comfort and Peace.
Thank you
for the
countless times
you have
rescued us
in our storms.
Thank you
for bringing peace
out of chaos.

Love, Andrea
