Dear God,

Sometimes we feel helpless to make good things happen.  We give up hope.  We collapse in on ourselves.  Yet, there are times when you surprise us.  Hard things become easy.  Good things come our way.  Hope rises up.

For years my husband's family has not come together for Christmas for oh, so many reasons.  But each year we have tried, only to fail.  However, just days ago, five families texted one another and within minutes, a gathering was planned for January 8.  Just like that.

It seems the secret is to trust you, to go to you in prayer, to listen to your will for our lives, to surrender to you and then to take steps you offer.  When we walk with you and follow your leading, we are surprised by many things.
