Dear God,

As the airplane roared down the runway, I leaned toward the window to watch as we climbed into the dark early morning skies.  As we lifted up, I could see the twinkling lights below.  What a beautiful sight!

Even now as I think about it, I realize we can't often see the light without the darkness.  In that dark, black sky in the airplane, I could see thousands of white lights spreading out across cities and states from Indiana to Florida.  It reminded me of how you shine your light to and from all parts of the world.  I loved looking and receiving not only the lights from below but from the Light above.

Holy God,
you are
the great source
of light.
Daily in
so many ways
you radiate
your light up
and down,
out and in
and side
to side.
Thank you
for being
the Light
and for sharing
your light
with us.

Love, Andrea
