Dear God,

How can we create peace in our corner of the world?  Although I know we are not able to make peace for the whole world, how can we make peace possible where we live?

It is so troubling with so much hatred, bitterness, division, violence and terrible vitriol present in our world including my own community.  It is hard not to get angry, disappointed or judgmental.  Yet, I know we are all hurting in some way or another.  We are all afraid of something.  We look around to see who we can blame.  This falls into a destructive rhythm. 

Even as I write this, I hear your voice, the voice of the Prince of Peace.  I know peace begins with me just like the song says, "Let peace begin with me.  Let this be the moment now..."

Help me, Lord,

be the peace

you speak of.

Help me

want peace

more than judgment.

Help me be

a peacemaker

with your help.
