Dear God,

There is a deep longing in the human heart for a deep and wide relationship with our creator, the only one whose fingerprint is on every DNA cell in our body.  We want to be close to the One with whom we were first created, where we resided in the womb together.  We want to breathe the same air, feel the same presence and know the love that exists alone in this relationship.  We want that more than anything!

When our longing is not met with fulfillment, we feel unsettled, restless and wanting.  We know something is missing.  We may not know what, just that something is absent.  We may attempt to fill the space with anything and everything, but it will always remain empty until we are filled with you.

Yet, there are moments, spectacular, exquisite moments when we feel your touch or mercy or inspiration and we know there is nothing else like it in all the world.  Our longing is quenched if only for a moment. And it is sublime, holy, sacred, beautiful and full of peace.

for every sense

that reveals

your living presence.
