Dear God,

I am surrounded by great authors who daily share their stories of faith.  During Advent these stories are even more wondrous and hope filled.  I am awed by their love for you, their trust in you and their open, honest sharing of life lived in the trenches.

As I listen to Henri Nouwen, long gone, yet as close as right here, he always has a word of hope and challenge.  The psalmist is just real, complaining, hoping, pleading, celebrating and praising.  I love to hear what he has to say.  And the stories of members of two different churches I served, in reading their stories, you bring them right next to me and I celebrate their faith and love.

Already this is a wonderful Advent!!!
