Dear God,

President Zelensky is a man of great courage and so are his people.  As the president of Ukraine, he has shown amazing resilience, determination and hope in his fight with the Russian president.  For 300 days great numbers of people have lived with little shelter, electricity, food, medicine and water.  Yet, they plan to celebrate Christmas even if in the dark.

Sometimes great leaders emerge that teach us what it means to be a person of compassion.  When we offer our paltry gifts to the needy at Christmas, we think we have expressed compassion but ours is little compared to how much is being given in places of destruction, loss and sorrow.  We forget what it means to love deep and wide.

Thank you for yet another reminder and example of your love at work in the world!
