Dear God,

Prayer is not something that begins with Dear God and ends with Amen.  Prayer is presence with God and God with us.  We exist together.  Because we are present with Presence, we do not need to search for God as if God is absent.  God is already beside us. Prayer is an ongoing conversation.  A formal beginning and ending are not required.  We do not have a special format or a way we must pray.  If we recognize God's presence with us, prayer becomes this sharing we do all day long.  More often than not during the day we are simply in the middle of prayer.

Thank you,

Compassionate God,

for the gift

of prayer.

Thank you

for each

and every moment

we share together.

Thank you

for prayer

that has

no beginning

and no end.
