Dear God,

Nothing remains the same!  Nature proves it to us.  When we listen to your creation, we find ways to live wisely and joyfully.

Sometimes it is hard to take hold of change and transformation.  We want things to remain the way we know them.  But life does not allow that for long.  Our bodies change.  Our homes change.  Our families change.  Our jobs change.  Our community changes.  Our friendships change.  Everything is touched by change.

Faith fills the gap.  When it seems the ground beneath us is shaky, all we need do is take your outstretched hand.  When we see an older person staring back at us in the mirror who 40 years ago looked dramatically different, all we need do is whisper, "Lord, Lord."  When we experience the nation and world changing, all we need do is trust you more.  Faith can and does make all the difference.

Almighty God,

when we feel

our lives 

slipping away,

when we

lose control

over all

we thought

we had

control over,

and when we

can't go back

to where

we used

to be,

help us

turn to you.

Help us

trust you more.

Increase our faith

so we

can face

the dangers

all around us.
