Dear God,

So much is changing.  Grandchildren are graduating.  Precious friends are having serious health concerns.  My own body is slowing down.  Our nation and world are growing in chaos.  New laws are being enacted to limit freedoms of almost every group of people except white men.  

Change is disorienting.  It feels like the floor is shaking beneath us.  There is fear and uncertainty.  Yet, this is the time biblical writers talked about.  Even Jesus.  The difference is he told his disciples to not be afraid.  He offered peace, hope and faith.  These are absolutely the times when we are told to trust, grow our faith, take on the challenges, take steps into the future and be courageous and strong.  These are the greatest moments for faith to grow deeper and wider.  With your help and power, O God, we have everything we need to face every difficulty, every change that is unfolding.

Holy and Powerful God,

steady our walk

with faith

and hope.

Help us

keep our eyes

on you.

Please give us

strength, courage

and wisdom.

Then fill us

with praise

and gratitude

for you.
