Dear God,

Each morning you place before us living water and spiritual food.  You awaken us to the new day with provisions waiting.  Our only task upon waking is to decide to eat and drink.

If we started each day with this knowledge, our outlook would be more promising, our hope more alive and our minds at peace knowing we are not alone.  You are with us, helping, feeding, guiding, loving and filling us.  We need not journey with worry, anxiety or fear.

As the psalmist reminds us, "Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it."  Yet, we are given it.  All we need do is walk in it, hand in hand with you, eat, drink and trust.

Holy God,

thank you

for every gift.

Thank you

for food

and drink,

for faith

and hope,

for love

and mercy.

Lead us,

O God,

lead us,

I pray.
