Dear God,

There is so much suffering all around us, Heavenly Father.  People are sick and dying.  People are victims of natural disasters and war.  People are dying of poverty and lack of basic essentials.  People are losing hope.  

These are our brothers and sisters.  We need to care for them and pray.  We need to reach out.  We need to help carry their burdens.  Show us the way, Loving God, show us the way.

We have forgotten

how to love

our sisters

and brothers,

dear God.

Oftentimes we

are selfish

and self-centered.

Remind us

when we fail

to love

and care

for others,

the whole world

begins to suffer,

including ourselves.
