Dear God,
Today the sky is cloudy and gray. Although I can see birds flying in the sky, there is not much else to see. But just above those clouds are the most beautiful, exquisite, magnificent scenes of differing shades of blue, yellow and white. While climbing in an airplane, breaking through the clouds brings all kinds of awe and wonder.
We don't always see above or beyond the cloudy places in our souls. When we see only our difficulties, we can get lost in hopelessness and despair. If our hours turn into days and our days into weeks and our weeks into months and years, we will never see the glory just inches away.
That's why I love a gray day. It stimulates my thinking, my hope and my creating. I have to stretch and grow. I have to wander beyond the visible knowing confidently that more exists just a breath away. My wandering can lead to wondering and wondering can take me to heights unknown. And why wouldn't I want to?
Thank you,
O God,
for this
glorious gray day.
Thank you
for allowing it
to teach us
new lessons
in life
and faith.
Take our hand
and lead us,
dear God.
Yours, Andrea
