Dear God,

The air is dry and dusty.  Excessive heat and humidity have been difficult since most homes do not have air conditioning in Maine.  But just a little while ago, a few drops of rain fell.  Strange and funny how a little rain can bring hope and respite if only for a little while.

We assume how everyday living should be, O God.  We practice being God as though we have the word on everything from politics to weather.  We grow angry if our way does not present itself the way we think it should.  Yet, why would we want the final word?

The more we trust you, the greater our opportunities can be.  When we release our supposed control over things, the more hope, peace and joy we find.  We even breathe a little easier.  Life is sweeter when we roll with the punches, soar on the spirit breeze and ride the waves of possibility.

Teach us
your way,
O God,
for we cannot
do life alone.
We thank you
for offering us
your living presence.
Help us
to detect it
day in
and day out.

Love, Andrea
