Dear God,

Putting ourselves wholly in your hands is very easy and yet very hard.  How do we release control of our lives?  How do we let go, surrender?  When things are totally out of control, there is no choice but to give the reins to you.  At the same time, we are used to holding the reins in our own hands. We like the power it gives us.  We don't want to let go.

In our country right now we are fighting for the reins.  We are using every effort to retain power and control.  Lies, manipulation, threats, exaggeration and coercion are breeding themselves among the people of the United States.  Truth is difficult to find.  

What are we to do, Good Lord?  What are we to do?

Let your truth

set us free,

Merciful God,

but first

teach us

what is truth.

We need

your wisdom

to teach us

a better way.

Lead us

to you,

O God,

lead us

to you.
