Dear God,

As a nation when will we ever learn to seek authentic truth?  For only this kind of truth will we experience the truth that will set us free.  

Tonight's presidential debate was a model in lies, manipulation, exaggeration and threats.  As I listened, really listened, I could not believe what some people will do to gain power.  When did we set our standards so low?  When did we begin to accept lies as truth?  When did we forfeit goodness and compassion for indifference and disgust?  When, O Lord, when!

Forgive our

errant ways,

O God;

show us

the way

to the truth

that sets

people free.

We long

for something better.
