Dear God,

Only you have the power to strengthen us for impossible tasks.  Yesterday I overcame a fear when I entered my daughter's home.  Things this summer were rough, relationships were taxed to the max and health issues wrought grief, not only for the present but also the past.  I was so overwhelmed at one time thinking I could simply live no longer.  But that was not your desire nor your plan.

As I leaned heavily on you, I felt a living presence hold me.  I felt there was light in my darkness.  I felt loved by you.  I breathed in the air of your spirit.  I kept taking one step and then another, slowly into the future.

It does not matter what kind of suffering we hold, how much pain robs us of peace or what obstacles are placed in our path, you are still the power to help, guide and move us toward that which is greater than what we are experiencing.  You are worthy of our trust, love and faith.

Holy God,

bless all

who feel pain

right now,

for all

who presently live

on the edge

and for all

who do 

not know

where to find

the light.

We need you.

Nations need you.

Leaders need you.

Guide us,

we pray.
