Dear God,
One of the greatest gifts you have given to us is that there is light in the darkness. Anyone who has ever walked in darkness knows the fear, anxiety and pain darkness can bring to us. As we walk in the darkness, we wander afraid, powerless and worried. Yet, your promise of light in the darkness can press a new reality into our heart, mind and spirit.
I remember a very dark time when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I found my interior self paralyzed in place. I could not move or break free. Only when I relented and said it was enough to know that I was not in the darkness alone could I see a sliver of light in a dark corner. As I turned toward the light and walked, I found the dramatic depth and width of a profound light. As I continued my journey, I realized new truths and freedom.
As we step into the darkness in America, we need to remember no politician can steal the light from us. Although dedicated to stomping out the light, we who are people of faith know you are the light of the world. We just need to breathe in the light when we are blocked and take a step of faith which will take us to the light of your love, grace and hope.
Thank you,
Loving God,
for your
generous love
and light.
Thank you
for making
a way
for us.
Thank you
for blessing us
in the darkness
as well
as in
the light.
Yours, Andrea
