Dear God,
While I waited for my coffee in the drive through at Dunkin Donuts, I noticed an old, abandoned bird nest in the tree. Woven with plastic, sticks, paper and assorted other debris, I marveled at the wonder of a bird's search for odds and ends to make a home for their babies. What a wonder!
The interesting scene made me think about how you provide odds and ends for us to remake our own hearts, minds and souls. You provide everything we need, something new but more often than not, remnants of other things, beliefs, thoughts, memories, even discarded things. Like the birds you give us what we need to build a new home for healing, hope and peace.
Thank you,
Loving God,
for all
your surprising gifts.
Thank you
for leading us
to what
we need.
You are
our greatest gift.
Love, Andrea
