Dear God,
A few days ago I wrote my 7,000th letter to you. I can hardly believe it. I started on a renewal leave in 2005, wrote daily as I traveled through Europe and Africa and I kept on writing. During these nearly 20 years you have listened, challenged, convicted, comforted, and stretched me in everyday life. At times we cried together but we also laughed. But more importantly, we walked together. After all, what journey is meaningful without you?
How can I possibly thank you for dwelling with me for so long? To imagine that anyone would want to listen to me that long boggles my mind. But divine love is like that. It draws us in, holds us, squeezes us at times, tosses us up and catches us and just gazes upon us with love that is greater than any on earth. I am so deeply grateful.
O God,
reign over
my life
forever more.
Make me yours.
I desire
to walk
in your footprints
all the days
of my life.
There is
no one else
I want
to follow.
Love, Andrea
