Dear God,
Snow is falling to the earth. One hundred kabillion (it is so fun creating our own words) tiny gems from heaven, they cry out to be seen, enjoyed and blessed. Each flake so creatively designed, it is like an art gallery just outside the kitchen window. Although the window glass is cold, I would like to smudge my nose to its surface and gaze all day long.
What joy it brings when we recognize the creator just outside our window. It is better even than receiving the gift we most want for Christmas. On top of that, how blessed are we to know you are just that close not just in a snowflake but in the scent of the candle burning on the table, the fresh grapefruit dripping down our chin and the man walking his dog in the snow-laden road a few feet away from the house. When we open ourselves to your living presence, we can discover you waiting on us to catch up.
Thank you,
Loving God,
for providing light,
joy, hope,
peace and love
during hard times.
Even though
the darkness
through conflict,
lies and manipulation
seek to
take down
the light,
it is impossible.
Thank you
for making it so.
Love, Andrea
