Dear God,

At our worst moment in history when hijacked planes flew into the Pentagon, the World Trade Center and the ground in Pennsylvania, our president stepped forward to soothe our pain, unite us as one and remind us we would survive to have hope again.  And we did.  His efforts were divinely led to heal us.  No, everything was not perfect but we began that healing process when he spoke to us as one people.  We will never forget it.

Two decades later our president is doing the opposite.  His dedication to revenge, division, violence, mean-spiritedness, lies, manipulation and hatred are doing just that, breeding the same.  How, who, when and where will this end?  Perhaps returning to the fruits of your spirit could be a beginning...love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

Let it be so,

dear God,

let it be so.

Not only

do we need

these fruits,

so do

our neighbors

and friends,

near and far.

We are all wounded,

whether we

know it

or not.

Lead us

to a 

better place,

a better nation

and a 

better world.
