My dear God,
Just today.
First light.
Footprints in the dusty road.
Birds soaring, rising above the canyon walls.
Gentle breeze blowing through the canyon.
Wooden cross standing tall on top of the mesa.
Smiling African monk.
Sun on my face.
An abandoned spiderweb on the cactus.
Radiant blue sky.
Chapel bells tolling.
Blackbird catching an updraft.
Sound of silence.
The Milky Way.
One lone candle burning in the darkness.
Gregorian chant.
Water blessing.
All these led me to you, Great God. Your creation sings your song. And I sing along.
Oh Lord,
Master and Source of All That Is,
you keep me in awe,
wandering in your spirit.
But oh God,
do not tempt me
with such grace
lest I forget your call
to come,
to listen,
to follow.
I have come
to discern your will,
to be obedient,
not to ask for more,
but to fall before you
in obedience.
Your will
is my desire.
When I reach for other things,
they hold no value
in your presence.
I long only for you.
Speak deeply to my soul,
God of the Cosmos.
speak deeply to my soul.
Change me,
cleanse me,
fortify me;
for I long
to please you,
to delight you
in faithfulness,
Oh God,
I await your word
and your word only.
Love always, Andrea
