Dearest God,

Oh to belong!  To belong to family!  To belong to you.  Is there any gift greater than to belong to someone who calls you "beloved"?

Years ago I came to the awareness of a golden thread, an eternal cord that binds children to you, children of every age and station of life.  I realized it was woven into my life from the moment of my own inception.  Wanted or not by those who create us, I believe we are each connected to you.  No one is lost, not for even a moment in time.

This week we had friends who came to stay with us for a few days.  We remembered our life time together, retreats, hike on the Appalachian Trail, work together, church events and activities, life difficulties we shared in together, and so much more.  That which caused us to muse, to laugh, and even to weep was the sacred cord.  Faith bears its name.
