My dearest God,

I am always on the hunt for a glimpse of your living presence.  This morning I found it several pews back from my perch in the choir loft.  The congregation was singing our favorite hymns when my husband seated near the back waved to me.  His smile was bright and his eyes shone like heaven.  From several feet away I caught a glimmer of your spirit.

I never know where I will discover you, where you will make yourself visible.  I never know when the sound of your voice will come or I will find your footprint among the living.  However, I do anticipate it every day.

That sighting of your spirit in the eyes of my hubby led me to ponder the benefits of your presence in the worship service.  I remembered minutes earlier when I had seen that same glimmer in the eyes of a fellow member in the choir as we celebrated together the shrinkage of his wife's cancer tumor.  While we shared the extraordinary value of faith, we both knew you were there among us.

How great
and awesome
are you,
Glorious God!
Your living presence
charges my batteries,
challenges my weakness,
and urges me
to grow
with you.
As I
keep my
eyes open,
I marvel
at the
gifts present
in your presence
and I
give thanks.
You are God;
there is none
like you.
Receive my praise,
Holy One,
as an act
of my love
and devotion.

Forever yours, Andrea
