Dear God,

"I will lift my eyes to the hills; I will lift my eyes to the hills.  From where does my help come?  My help comes from the Lord..." we sang in worship this morning.  My help does come from the Lord.  I agree with the psalmist who penned these words so very long ago.

A part of faith is giving credit where credit is due.  Words from the faithful direct our eyes, hearts, and minds back to you, Generous God.  They remind us how good you are, how your mercies are forever.  They also challenge us to be faith-filled, to live in love and charity, and to be gracious.  How can we possibly expect grace from you if we do not offer it to others?

When I lift my eyes to you, O Lord, I move my focus from myself to you.  When I lift my head to the heavens, I no longer can see my own worries or concerns; rather, I see your face.  When I shift my thinking, I am enabled to receive your help, your guidance, your correction, and your love.

Yes, indeed when I lift my eyes to you, I fill with faith.

God of grace and glory,
you are worthy
of my praise,
my devotion,
and my love.
Thank you
for faith
that lifts
our eyes,
our minds,
our ears,
our hearts.
Be blessed,
my Lord,
be blessed.

Love, Andrea
