My dearest God,
After the singing, the dancing, the reciting, and instrumental playing, I jumped down from the step in the gymnasium and hurried quickly forward to grab my eight-year-old granddaughter and swing her around. It was Grandparents Day and she had invited me to come to her program and festivities. When I looked down into her eyes that sparkle like the first star on a dark night sky, I saw light and joy overflowing. My little Lucy put her arms around my waist and let me swing her as long as my arms could hold. Does it get any better than this? I asked myself. Does life get any better than love and joy overflowing from a beloved grandchild? I smiled real big and told Lucy how much I loved her and how proud I was of her playing the xylophone, singing, and dancing.
There are prized moments when I see you at work and at play! When I recognize what I am seeing, I too am full of joy and love because I realize what a gift such a scene provides. I feel overwhelmed for both the gift and the giver who touches, inspires, and loves every day and the fact that I recognize it blesses me all the more.
Let me
bless you,
Gracious Giver;
let me
bless you
with joy
and gratitude.
Love, Andrea
