Dear God,
Why do we expect others to create themselves into our image? Why do we insist they become like us? Do we honestly believe our way is the only way, the better way?
Often we lose ourselves and begin to put pressure on others to become like us. Even on our best days, who of us is worthy to serve as a model human being for the rest of the world? Are our ideals, beliefs, and attitudes really the best to be copied?
Help us consider
your loving ways,
O Lord.
Make us more
like you.
Teach us
the way
of love
and respect.
Reveal our weakness
so we
can remake ourselves
with your strength.
Forgive our arrogance
and our lack
of regard
for those
around us,
I pray.
Love, Andrea
