Dearest God,
Thank you for your leading, guiding power. You give us perspective as we consider the meaning of daily life. As we lean to you in faith, our hearts, minds, and souls are opened to greater dimensions of value, love, hope, peace, and joy.
Yesterday I looked back on a painful situation that still holds some power over my husband and me. The sadness that came still lives within us. We don't really dwell on the problem but our hearts are still weighted down.
I confess this to you because I realize when I spoke of it yesterday, I simply talked about the injustice. What I failed to reflect upon are the lessons that can be learned in the midst of difficulties and where and how you may be calling us to a new level of faith. It is so easy to stay in our muck but what is the use? The more time we spend looking back, the less time we have to look forward. As we consider our state of being and the next steps you want us to take to be faithful citizens of your kingdom family, I pray you will open our eyes to what we have and not on what we do not have. I also pray you will stretch us to consider your plan for our lives and not just ideas we may come up with about where to put down the roots of our faith. I pray you will move us along the path leading right where you want us.
Thank you,
Caring God,
for valuable
life lessons.
Thank you
for your challenge
that causes us
to rethink
and reevaluate
our lives.
Teach us again
how to listen
and follow.
Thank you
for your mercy
that reaches us
from head
to toe.
Love, Andrea
