Dear God,

"Love is in the air," you said, "when you pray."  I paused while praying in bed before I got up this morning.  Love is in the air.  I hadn't really made that connection before.  Yes, I have prayed for loved ones, those I cherish like children and grandchildren.  I pray for them because I love them.  But I also pray for strangers, leaders of all nations, people who are in trouble, refugee camps full of people, victims and perpetrators of human trafficking, and even individuals who have purposefully destroyed human lives and communities.  Love is in the air; suddenly my heart filled full of joy because I realized I am part of your love in the world and so is every person who prays.

Insights come to us when we stand in the middle of your spirit work.  When we pray we are fulfilling your will no matter who we pray for.  When we pray we turn someone's darkness to light, another's despair into hope, and yet one more's greed into service to the world.  We may not know who is inspired to do good; however, we play a part in the transformation of our self and others.  Together praying, the world changes somewhere on the planet.

Thank you,
Holy God,
for prayer
that is
love in action.
Thank you
for the ability
to love someone
into change.
Thank you
for grace
that enables us
to be part
of your
spirit work.

Love, Andrea
