Dear God,
Why do we often want less than your perfect will in our lives? Why do we turn down opportunities to build a greater life in faith? I ask these questions because sometimes I am guilty of wanting less, turning down opportunities. I am always sad and disappointed in myself when I topple from faith.
At times it is difficult to wait for your will to unfold. Often we just act or react to a situation rather than wait for your time, place, and movement. We get impatient and step into the middle of your work in process. We can mess things up in a big way and create more sorrow. It isn't long before we know our own error. We judge ourselves harshly, plead for forgiveness, and struggle to wait once again.
On the other hand, when we patiently wait, praying and trusting, we can become part of the victory, the miracle, and the transformation. We can participate in your Holy Spirit work. We can join in the glorious celebration knowing our patience was both a gift from God and a gift in return. It is only then we recognize your sacred will and recommit ourselves to wanting what you want. What a grace it is to acknowledge your merciful work in our lives!
Holy Spirit God,
thank you
for shifting ground
that causes us
to pause,
to think,
to pray,
and to
be willing
to search
for your will
in our lives.
Thank you
for faith
that inspires us
to wait.
Thank you
for your
spirit movement.
Love, Andrea
