Dear God,

Your spirit can cut us wide open exposing our inmost being.  All the truths of our life lie awake seemingly vulnerable to the frightening elements all around us.  However, it is in that moment when that which has its greatest hold on us is seen with no place to hide.  While terrifying and painful, you show us the infection, the spot where the enemy first lay claim, and you give us opportunity to excise that wretched parasite that has threatened us far too long.  With power greater than any power on earth you move in, take hold, and lay your hand beginning the healing process.  You do that out of love.

Love can enable us to live again.  When death comes at us, you cry out, "No!  That one is my own."  You show us how we can rid ourselves of unwanted, deadly thoughts, beliefs, and practices.  You give us permission to let go, to surrender whatever has held us down and held us back.  You assist us in getting back on our feet and moving in the right direction.  Your love can do the impossible.

On this day of days when I see the knife cut and know you are in a healing mode, I pray for all those who need it.
