Dear God,

Sometimes you call us to listen for your whisper in the blowing wind.  Or to see you in nature's extraordinary surprise.  Sometimes you come to us in an unexpected challenge honing our faith skills to bloom and blossom.  Sometimes you visit in silence when our hearts are quiet and anticipating.  Sometimes you speak through the written word, a word, a phrase that takes on new meaning even if we have read it a hundred times before.

A few weeks ago you came to dwell with me offering me an invitation, "Give faith a chance."  Each time I wanted to react to something, you murmured, "Really, is this what you want?  Give faith a chance."  And then today, this very morning you spoke once again, "See me through the savior's eyes. Give faith a chance."

There is something very comforting when you come to me, to us.  In the coming you are promising once again your commitment to never leave us or forsake us.  You promise to be with us.  When the savior of the world makes this promise anew, at this very moment, there is a tender hope that births within us.  We begin to breathe in and drink in your living presence.  We know we can continue moving, looking toward the future with a soft assurance.

Come, Holy Spirit, come
be with
and abide
in us.
Speak and
make sense
in our
weary minds,
hearts, and spirits.
Come sweeping
upon us,
revealing your truth
that sets us free.

Love, Andrea
