Dear God,
"What a tragedy it would be if Christmas came and nothing changed," the priest said in worship. I listened and paused and shook my head. What is the point of the wondrous event if it doesn't impact our lives?
Expectations can kill us. They can rob us of significant moments in our lives. We can get so focused on expectations of others and ourselves that we can literally miss the grand entrance of Christmas.
The priest's words stayed with me all day. What if nothing changed?
Change me,
O God;
change me
into a receptacle
of grace.
Let the miracle
of Christmas
do its work
on me,
I pray.
Love, Andrea
