Dear God,
As we pilgrim our way through Advent, we pause to consider your light shining bright. This morning the light appears before me, five pictures on my desk, all of family but one, a photograph of Pope Francis. They are all light to me. They all represent love of the deepest kind. Yes, indeed the light shines bright.
As I consider the light coming my way, I realize you want us not only to receive light but to give it. It is not enough to accumulate light for ourselves, we must shine for others, especially those who are desperately searching for the light. A tiny spark can bring hope to the hopeless.
I want to be light, O Lord; I want to glow with your light. Forgive me when I fail. I want to bless others with the light of faith.
Holy Father,
giver of divine light,
thank you
for the light
in my study.
Thank you
for joy
that comes
with the light.
Make me
a beacon
for you
and the world,
I pray.
Love, Andrea
