Dear God,

This new day is just beginning.  Yesterday is past.  Tomorrow is not yet here.  Today is full of promise.  It may bring great joy or there may be sorrow and loss.  There is no way to know.

One thing I know for sure is you are with us.  You promised to be with us.  You promise to be our hope and refuge, our light and help, our comforter and our salvation.  Such promises give us great possibilities for today.

As we fully step into the new day, open our hearts, minds, and souls, our ears too so we may listen and hear.  May we be attentive to those we have the opportunity to spend time with.  May we look around and gaze upon blessings.  May we engage in loving service to those on the road, in our neighborhood, in the malls, around the world, and in our homes.  May we breathe in your spirit and breathe out love.  May we speak gratitude.  May we trust you completely.

You are God;
there is none
like you.
Thank you
for today
and all
it has
to offer.
Help us
make the best
of today.
May we
use this day
in your service
to one another.
