Dear God,

You bring us together to heal us.  You want to reconcile us with those we love and with you.  You want us to make peace with one another.

Sometimes our attitudes, beliefs, and practices reveal a total disregard for your desire in the world.  Often we turn away from you because we do not want to change our lives even if it means life would be better.  We sing our own tune and walk our own walk.  But we miss what your grace can do.  We lose opportunities to stretch and grow and see and transform and bless.  We fail to see the light and bask in its warmth.

You never give up on us.  You never abandon us to our own devices.  You never leave us alone.  You are always very present.  Every day you reach out to us in some way or another.  Sometimes it is in the silence that you speak the most profoundly.  When we truly listen and hear, we drop to our knees in praise and adoration because we know that we know that we know, you are with us to guide us to healing and wholeness.  Even now you are at work in our family and we are so very grateful.

for nudging us
along life's journey.
Thank you
for daily reminders
of your spirit
at work.
Thank you
for your peace
that is different
than any
other peace.
