Dear God,
How happy are the birds who sing their songs of praise! I know I have mentioned them to you before but I am taken by their songs, their beauty, and their ability to bless.
Do they sing because they sense spring is here? Do they sing because you created each one to sing a particular song? Or do they sing to bring joy to their creator and all those around them?
It seems the birds have so much to teach us. They have a song so they sing it. We too have a song but do we sing it? Do we sing for the praise of our Lord? Do we sing only when we are happy or do we sing because singing lifts the spirit, clears the air, and brings calming peace? You have given each of us a song to keep us connected to you. When we sing, we feel the vibrancy of our relationship to you. The more we sing, the greater our sense of your presence.
As I continue to read my devotional book, Then Sings My Soul, the more I realize how singing increases faith, lessens stress, and blesses the soul. One of the great gifts is we get to sing each other's songs and grow together. What blessing is ours.
So when I hear the bird's singing, I hear your voice saying, "Sing, my child, sing." And when I do, joy fills me to overflowing!
Bless you, Lord,
bless you.
Thank you
for the challenge
of the birds
who remind us
to sing
our song
of faith.
May all glory
be yours.
Love, Andrea
