Dear God,
You call us to your side. You invite us in. You ask us to follow you. Sometimes simple encounters speak volumes.
For days I wanted to get outside, to begin the fall and winter cleanup, to rake, pick up branches and limbs, to prune, and clear away but it has been cold, in the twenties and thirties. This morning I just felt compelled to dress in layers and move outside. Although it was cold, I felt your presence as soon as I stepped outside. The birds were singing. The oriental grasses were gently swaying to the spirit breeze. The earth seemed to be calling for a clearing. For an hour and a half I worked and what joy I felt. I only stepped back inside when the snow began falling.
That time with you filled me with joy. I prayed, sang aloud, and smiled a lot. I realized that the simple call to do outdoor work was the call for sweet communion and how sweet it was!
Thank you,
Holy Father,
for our time
together today.
Thank you
for joy
that emanates
out of
knowing you.
Thank you
for sweet times
with you alone.
Thanks for
the call.
Bless you;
glory to your name!
Love, Andrea
