Dear God,

Doors.  Doors open to faith.  Doors leading us to creative transformation, wondrous joy, and blessed peace.

Almost anything can be a door to faith.  An orange and pink sunrise surprisingly creeping over the horizon can be a door.  A cacophony of bird songs can be a door.  A smiling neighbor walking his/her dog can be a door.  The sound of church bells at noon can be a door.  Hope emerging out of sorrow can be a door.

Amazingly, all around us are doors that open to you, Loving God.  All day long we can anticipate opening doors, outside, inside, or around the side.  As we go about daily living, we stumble into doors that lead us to beautiful places of peace, joy, and gratitude.  Doors, great gifts of heaven!

Almighty God,
thank you
for doors,
not for closing
or slamming shut,
but for doors
that open
to all
your people.
Thank you
for inviting us in.
Glory to you, Lord,
glory to you.
