Dear God,

Moments ago as I wrote my letter to you, I heard the sound of a tiny bird singing her song just outside my study window.  Although this is a late November day it was like the song of Easter, a resurrection song in the midst of dark death.  What a sweet sound at an unexpected time!

Every now and then you surprise us with special joy.  You come singing to us.  You whisper your loving words to us.  You put a new smile on our face, a bit of oomph to our step, and an extra breath in our lungs.  You let us know you are with us, not like a friend close by, but rather something extra special in every DNA cell.  Joy fills us right up and we know that we know that we know you have made a dwelling place in our soul.

How wondrous
you are,
Almighty God,
and yet
so tender,
like a
loving, caring mother.
Thank you
for the gifts
of these last
few days.
What blessings!
Take my
my extra abundance
of joy
for yourself,
O Lord,
make it your own.

Love, Andrea
