Dear God,

Footprints are everywhere on the freshly fallen snow.  A bunny or two, birds, a cat, and even maybe a deer have found their way through the yard leaving their footprint behind.  It's a thing of beauty.

I wonder if my footprint delights anyone.  I wonder if there is anything about my life that touches another.  I wonder where my footprint leads.  Although I am only a small thing in the scheme of life, I still feel the challenge to make my footprint count.  Does my footprint follow the Master?  Does my footprint leave a scene of forgiveness and love behind?  Does my footprint inspire anyone?

As I consider the famous poem "Footprints" I recognize the challenge of walking with you, of following you, and going where your will leads.  In my mind's eye I can reflect upon those times when indeed you carried me and there is only one set of footprints, yours.  In every case I feel the joy of knowing your love is so deep and strong and welcomes even the smallest of us.  I pray I will recommit myself to follow the Leader and make my footprints worthy of the Father's love.

Thank you,
Holy God,
for signs
and scenes
of your creation,
of your creatures
and the beauty
that is all
around us.
Thank you
for love
that makes it
all possible
and for faith
that makes us aware.
Bless you,
O God,
bless you.

Love, Andrea
