Dear God,

"Our Father, hallowed be thy name...," we pray this prayer every Sunday,  It is so appropriate to give praise, thanks, and glory to the God whose love for us is never snuffed out and who blesses us with gifts from on high.

This morning as the preacher shared the story of the boy child Samuel, you brought to mind my own call to faith, to ministry and to trust.  Although I had no idea what was happening to me, I knew it was you.  I felt your presence deeply in my soul.  The physical swirling in my heart that lasted three days was a divine manifestation of your spirit in me.  For 72 hours I carried you like a mother who conceives the first time.  "Who am I that you, O Lord, would bless me this way?"  I asked knowing full well I was nothing special.

That one call changed the course of my life in so many ways.  To some degree I have never been the same.  To think you would ask me to care for your flock still muddles my mind with wonderment.  Yet, that call holds me close to your heart and I shall cherish it and you forever.

Holy God,
full of power
and love,
thank you
for your
generous spirit.
Thank you
for new direction
that calls us
to new heights
and depths.
Bless you,
O Lord,
bless you.

Love, Andrea
